Building A Home for A Local Hero

The Ventura’s need our help! Building Homes for Heroes will carry out a major renovation of the family’s home to make it handicap-accessible for our local hero.

For many years, Bill and Cyndi Ventura have dedicated their lives to supporting military parents. Cyndi, the president of Long Island Blue Star Moms NY6, has held the hands of grieving parents, organized aid for Marine Corps amputees and has organized fundraisers.

On April 23, 2011, the Ventura’s oldest son, USMC Corporal Jerome Ventura, died of complications from his medication for PTSD. He was just 23, leaving behind his wife, parents and two brothers. Tragedy struck again on July 3, 2013 when USMC Lance Corporal William Ventura, on leave from training at upstate Fort Drum, was involved in a motorcycle accident leaving him paralyzed from the waist down.

The Ventura’s need our help! Building Homes for Heroes will carry out a major renovation of the family’s home to make it handicap-accessible for our hero.
